Week Four

Recipe #2 from Cooking Light!

My family doesn't eat enough fish, and we should! #1 it's yummy, #2 it's SO fast to cook!

Thought I'd start out with something simple, tilapia!

This turned out really good and I'll definitely make it again. Dad said this was his favorite so far!

Week Three

I love pasta.  Love it.

I went with a Food Network recipe for Ziti.  I also made my own tomato sauce with sausage.

This wasn't the best ziti I've ever had, but it was decent.  I will say, each day, it got better and better!

Week Two

My dear friend Rena gave me this cook book for Christmas and I'm excited to try a lot of the recipes! Tonight was the Balsamic Chicken with Roasted Tomatoes with the Mushroom & Zucchini Orzo. Both recipes were very simple. I know I need to work at my time/food management though... I haven't quite masted when to start each step to get it to finish at the same time without burning something or not cooking something all the way.

Week One

The Chicken Piccata recipe is a combo between Ina's & Giada's.  I recently had this meal at two different restaurants and have been craving it ever since!  The garlic mashed potatoes are from Paula Deen.  My mom may have said they were the best mashed potatoes she's ever had.

I'm just sayin'.

I will definitely make both of these dishes again!

2011 Food Blog

Okay, so last year I decided to take one picture a day.  I got the idea from my friend Suzanne before I heard about Project 365.  Out  of 365 days, I think I successfully took around 360ish photos.  It's super neat to go back and see what I was doing this time last year.

Anyway-this year, I knew I wanted to do something different!

I've decided to go the route of Julie & Julia, but for me it'll be more like Ina/Rachel/Giada/Other awesome cookbooks I got for Christmas & Lindsay. And instead of doing something everyday, I'm going to cook a new recipe every week.  While the picture-a-day was fun, it was very time-consuming.  This way, I'll have all week to plan and cook whatever I want on my day off!

I'm going to try to take pictures of everything I cook and definitely provide some feedback.  If you guys have any ideas, comments, suggestions, I'd love to hear them!

Here's to cooking (& eating) some amazing dishes in 2011!
